Protecting Children and Young People

We believe it’s important that the voice of young people—their needs, concerns and aspirations—is heard by the Australian community.

KHL’s response to protect children is multi-faceted and comprehensive.

We provide support and information to reduce vulnerability to harm before it happens, crisis intervention, and long-term support to help young people navigate significant issues impacting their wellbeing.

Children and young people contact us when they’re feeling unsafe, when they’re being abused, or when they’re feeling like hurting themselves or others.

In 2016, KHL counselled, supported and protected young people reaching out to us for help with some big issues — unsafe, abuse, self-harm, suicide, bullying.
